I just thought I'd point out that nowhere in the article does the Union President voice his support for the occupation.
ReplyDeleteThe Union' s President is a puppet. What do u expect from people like him? Disgusting
ReplyDeleteI must admit I missed the bit where he said he supported the occupation, too. Anyone able to point it out?
ReplyDeleteCheers
And here I thought you folks were supposed to be the masters of the English language. Grown folks in a position of responsibility can't just come out and say what they want, so go take a course in diplomacy and then re-read the statement.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, the Prez isn't condemning the occupation either. He's obviously chosen his words so as to appear as neutral as possible.
ReplyDeleteFair enough. Just seems a bit rich to claim him as a supporter. He doesn't condemn it, but nor does he support it (although he probably does support it - just not in that blog).
ReplyDeleteHe clearly states his wish is to see the university enter into negotiations with the occupiers, which is nothing less than saying that the aims of the occupation and the tactic itself is legitimate
ReplyDeleteGood luck guys! stay strong!
How many times have you read the president's statement? Did you feel an amazing sensation while reading it?
ReplyDeleteBack down to earth now...
Does this blog post mention anywhere that the President is a supporter? After reading it 56 times, feeling the same amazing sensation each time that you probably felt while reading the president's post, I could still only see this:

ReplyDeleteFor sure it did not say that yesterday....
How could the a statement calling for the university to negotiate with the occupation NOT be supportive?
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!
Just seen this - is the stuff about the occupation true? If so what was the arguement about? Is Fiona Edwards still leading it/was she ever? Thanks
